The Metamorphosis Effect

Ouch that hurts! What is going on in my life? Lord, Why am I here? Will this ever end? Jesus, please fix it, right now! The process of change, transition, and transformation can be a painful, confusing and sometimes chaotic process in our lives as women. However, it is something that we all must go through in order to experience the Metamorphosis Effect that is needed in order to live and dwell in the purpose that God has ordained for our lives. In my immediate circle of friends, sisters, nieces, and mentees I am consistently observing and experiencing the Metamorphosis Effect. Well, you may ask…What is that?

Metamorphosis is a term that we often hear, read, and associate with Science, Zoology, and commonly with the life of a fuzzy, worm-like insect (the caterpillar) and its journey and transformation into a beautiful butterfly. Today’s article is about how God takes women through a metamorphosis journey and the effect is that our lives are never the same!

Metamorphosis means a change in the form or nature of a thing or person (woman) into a completely different one, by natural or supernatural means. We are talking about the supernatural means. As I observe and experience metamorphosis in myself and others; I have come to recognize that it is a process that God takes us through to get us to our divine purpose, which is to live a life that gives Him Glory Daily. The process of metamorphosis can be painful, and leave one feeling very confused! Often during metamorphosis we experience loneliness, low self-esteem, disgruntledness, restlessness, discomfort, and the list can go on and on and on. However, during this season we can and should also embrace communion with the Father, reflection, studying the word of God, Praise and Worship. Why? You may ask. Because it is in this time, this season that God is perfecting us and we are leaning on and growing in HIM. Jeremiah 1:5 states “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.” The word is clearly telling us that God knows us and He has the ULTIMATE plan for our lives. The problem is we can’t get to the plan because we are swimming in the pool of distraction and complacency! Because of this, God has to set us apart or separate us from those things that are not contributing positively to our metamorphosis breakthrough. Check this…You can’t be a prophet to the nations or the land if you hang out with small town thinkers! You can’t run a Fortune 500 company, when you only hang around people whose only dream is to work at the local McDonald’s. You can’t shop at Phipps Plaza, when you only are wishing and waiting for the next local Wal-Mart to come to your neighborhood. And you can’t do Kingdom work that gives God the Glory He deserves, when you only want to be a microwave member who pops in to church to get warmed up for the day and then go back to living your life the same. Being a woman in transition means staying the course, delighting yourself in the things above and not the things that are in front of you or beneath you. Being a woman in transition means dreaming the biggest Dreams you can ever think of and then dreaming some more! The word declares in Ephesians 3:20 (Passion translation) Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you.”

This message is for ALL women who are in transition, who are experiencing the metamorphosis effect. If you feel pulled, confused, and uncomfortable, you could be in your cocoon phase and God is metamorphosing you!! God has Called you into Greater Purpose and Greater Living! He Called you into the Arts, so dance your dance and write the script! He Called you into speaking, so start your YouTube channel or your podcast! He Called you to the Marketplace so create your bracelets, necklaces, dresses, shoes, and bags and start your boutique! He Called you to Lead, so put on your fiercest red bottom Christian Louboutin heels, Walk boldly into that fortune 500 Company and take your seat at the Head of the table!

If God has called you to greater and you are screaming Ouch, day after day; find solace in the process and know that, You will never be the same! The metamorphosis effect is a season that God calls all of His women into, so get comfortable, step back and see the Glory of God in your life. At the end of your metamorphosis you will be a new creature, with new beautiful wings, flying to new levels, and new lands and new horizons…It will be a supernatural transformation and you will look in the mirror and see a new you. Sophisticated You, Classy You, Jazzy You, Bold you. Job 23:10 states “But He knows the way that I take (and He pays attention to it). When He has tried me, I will come forth as (refined) gold (pure and luminous)! So get your Shine on Sis! Transform and Answer the Call!

He called me!

He called you!

He Called HER!!
